(Back to Top) Dragon Boat Races
One of the most exciting water sports is dragon boat racing and the Parramatta River comes to life every year for the Ryde Aquatic Festival's Dragon Boat Challenge.
The races get under way at 9.00am and they are run over a 250 metre course and are held aproximately every 15 minutes throughout the day. There are two levels of races - The Sports Team Races for the dragon boat club members and the Corporate and Community Races, which are the fun races for any business or community teams who wish to participate.
Each boat requires 20 paddlers. It is a lot of fun and no experience is necessary to enter a team. The cost is $620 per boat (including insurance), so why not get your work colleagues, family, friends, sporting club or organisation together and enter a team. For further information about entering a team please call Sharon Lockett on 0408 620 997.
(Back to Top) Billy Cart Derby

Registrations are taken from 11.00am and the Derby is open to boys and girls in age groups from 6 to 13 and they participate according to the age of the pusher.
Entry to the Billy Cart Derby is FREE however both the rider and pusher MUST wear a bike or other type of protective helmet and runners or general footwear.
So start building your billy cart now and for hints on how to build a billy cart go to www.bladeschool.com.au and remember because the derby is run over a grass course, the bigger wheels will work the best for you.
