Beatles Places

I visited London and the Beatles home city of Liverpool in the late 1980's
and it is amazing how many places they wrote about in their songs.
Here are a few photographs of some of those special places

The famous crossing from the photograph on the front cover of the album,
which is just outside their Abbey Road recording studios.

A well known street sign.

“Strawberry Fields Forever"  ….  Which was very dark and covered in snow during winter.

“Penny Lane is in my ears and in my eye”

“Ferry Cross the Mersey” with the city of Liverpool in the background.

John Lennon’s Liverpool home where he was raised by his Aunt Mimi.
John Lennon and Paul McCartney met each other just before their Quarrymen days
and it is said they wrote a number of the Beatles early hits in the front room of this house.
