Please select a chapter of my life:

My Younger Days

I was raised into a caring family and spent my first two years at school in Sydney's
E
astern Suburbs before my family moved to Ermington in 1956.
I then went to St. Mary’s at Rydalmere and Rydalmere East Public School
and attended Macquarie Boy’s High School at North Parramatta.

Dressed as an Elf for a school function aged 5 at Paddington Town Hall in 1955,
with my brother John who is on the left and my sister Maureen.

Paddington Town Hall the following year, aged 6, dressed as a young South Sydney 'Rabbitoh'

My First Holy Communion at St. Mary's Rydalmere on 26th October 1957.

1958 as a seven year old at St Mary’s Rydalmere.
I remember being constantly hit with a ruler for being left-handed
and the Nuns even made me hold the pencil in my right hand for this photograph.

A school photograph taken the same day in 1958 with my brother Michael.

My last photograph with Santa Clause c1960.

We won many premierships at Macquarie Boys High School and this was my first in 1963.
I'm seated on the ground holding the board and sporting a black right eye!

(When the Parramatta Rugby League team entered the Sydney premiership in 1947
they adopted our school's colours of Blue and Gold as their club's colours).

In the school cricket team aged 13 in 1964, second from the left in the back row.
The other players were not tall, but I was one of the smaller kids
in the year and 'shot up' over the ensuing years.

This is an interesting photograph of the Parramatta Rugby League team taken for
The Sun Newspaper’s footy card collection before their game against Cronulla in 1967.
Look at the kid (who is now much bigger) on the left hand side of the back row in blue jacket
and you will see a young Stephen Sim eager to get amongst the action one day.
