Catching Up With Loredo from 2009's So You Think You Can Dance

Jamaican native Loredo Malcolm was one of the favourites to win the 2009 season of So You Think You Can Dance.  He wowed us at the 2009 Australian Dance Festival with his  African Contemporary performance, as well as a knock out workshop.  Loredo will be back at the 2010 Australian Dance Festival, as both a performer and an instructor.

Loredo Malcolm started training at the age of nine at Ashe Caribbean Performing Arts in Jamaica. He moved to New York to pursue further dance training, graduating with his certificate in dance and performing arts. Loredo then understudied the role of Simba in Disney's The Lion King for four years touring Australia, Shanghai, and London's West End.

In 2009 Loredo made it into the Top 9 dancers on television’s So You Think You Can Dance. He recently opened his Contemporary Company LOcREaDO Dance Company.

Since SYTYCD, Loredo has relocated from Melbourne to Sydney and he's brought his dance company with him.  Loredo set up the LOcREaDO Dance Company in 2009 in Melbourne. The Company is made up of  professional dancers in Australia who are open to being a part of something different and unique.

The passion and love that Loredo has for dance is what lead him to start this Company, his unique style of dance is something he feels that can grow in the dance industry.  LOcREaDO Dance Company is now located in Sydney and will be presenting a powerful dance performance at the the NIDA theatre in July.
