Frequently Asked Questions

We have been receiving many enquiries about registrations, ticket collection and how to check in to the hotels.  Below is a list of frequently asked questions and the answers to assist you:

Prepaid Registration & Ticket Collection

Question:  I registered online but I have not received any correspondence from you.  Should I be receiving my tickets in the mail?
When your registration was processed, you should have received an email with a printable version of your ticket.  This document also contains information regarding the location and opening times of the Registration Desks where you can collect your tickets (or wristbands if you purchased a day / weekend pass).  If you have not received this email and you believe that you have registered, please call us ASAP on 1300 132 152.

Registration desks will be open at the following times:
Friday 14th September from 12 noon – 7pm
Saturday 15th Sept 9am - 7pm
Sunday 16th Sept from 9am - 7pm

Question:  I have just purchased Show Tickets, where do I go to pick them up?
All pre-purchased show tickets can be collected from the Help Desk located at the Registration Area. Tickets can be collected from Friday 14th September from 10am – 7pm, and on Saturday and Sunday from 9am – 7pm.

IMPORTANT:  We expect a lot of people on Saturday morning, so if you can come in on Friday to pick up your tickets, you won't have to queue.

Question:  How does the Registration Process work for day / weekend passes?  What do I need to bring with me?
Registration Desks will be set up at the front entrance of the Sydney Olympic Park Sports Centre

There will be 4 desks: (1) First names A - E   (2)  F - K    (3)  L - R  (4) S- Z

You line up behind the relevant desk.  You will need to bring with you some Photo ID and for concession pass buyers, proof that you are either under 16 or a full time student.  You will be issued with a wristband once you sign off on your agreement to abide by the terms and conditions of the CLEAN&CLEAR® Australian Dance Festival.

*Please note that there will be a separate area for competitors of Australia's Best Dance Crew and for Group Bookings

Question:  What are the Terms & Conditions for full pass & performer pass holders?
Wearing a wristband identifies you as a day pass / weekend pass holder. When you collect your wristband, you will be asked to agree to the following conditions:
1)  To keep your wristband on at all times during the  Australian Dance Festival

2)  If you lose your wristband and you are unable to provide us with your original wristband, you must pay the full price of a full pass for a replacement

3)  If you break your wristband and require a replacement,
You must provide us with your original wristband in order to get a replacement and pay a $5 replacement fee.

4)
I hereby grant to TheAustralian Dance Festival & its sponsors the right to video or photograph part or whole of my involvement in the event for promotional use with respect to future presentations of the Festival and the business of the Producer & its sponsors

Question: Do I have to book in for the individual workshops?
No, you do not have to book in for the workshops.  Most of the workshop rooms have a large capacity.  If you have a workshop on your MUST DO list then we would recommend that you get to these workshops early as it is strictly "first come, first serve".  There is a 15 minute interval between workshops to facilitate movement of dancers between rooms, and all the rooms are within a 5 minute walk of each other.

Purchasing Tickets & Passes at the Venue

Question:  Can I purchase tickets and/or full passes, day passes at the Venue?
Yes, but the tickets will be a little more expensive, and you will also waste valuable time by having to queue at the registration desk and the cashier.  We recommend that you purchase your tickets/ passes ONLINE before the 31st July 2012 to save yourself time and money.

Venue Orientation & Parking

Question: Where can I park?

A map of Sydney Olympic Park can be downloaded  HERE

We have circled in red P3 which is the nearest parking station to the State Sports Centre.  You can purchase a Multiple Entry Day pass to the car park from the State Sports Centre Reception for $17.50 per day.  This means that you can park there during the day for the workshops, go home and park again for the night shows and parties.

Checking into the Hotels

Question:  I booked my accommodation via the Australian Dance Festival.  How will the hotel know that I have a room?
We have supplied the hotel with a list of people who paid for their accommodation via the Australian Dance Festival.  When you check in at the hotel, all you will have to do is provide them with your name and some photo ID.  You will also be required to provide them with your credit card details in order to cover any room service charges.

Food & Drinks

Question: Will food & drinks be available for sale inside Sydney Sports Centre?
Yes there are two kiosks set up within the venue that offer healthy food and drinks. Close to the hotels are also the following outlets:  McDonald's, Gloria Jean's, Muffin Break and Subway.

If you are organising a group, we recommend that you book in for the catered breakfasts and dinners as the food outlets in Sydney Olympic Park are not able to deal with large groups in short timeframes.  Click here for more info

ADF Breaks the Guinness World Record!
On September 4th, 2010, The Australian Dance Festival broke the World Record for the Largest Song & Dance Routine! (Officially recognised the Guinness World Records!)

As Jason Coleman is the Patron of the  Australian Dance Festival, and also choreographer for the "Hairspray, The Musical", it was only fitting that the world record should be "The World's Largest Number of Dancers Doing a Hairspray Choreography", led by Jason Coleman himself!  >>learn more
