What Our International Guests Have Said About Sydney...

I am amazed at the quality and dedication of the trained dance scene in Australia. There’s a reason for their 3 time world salsa championships status… The performances were great, and well run...everything from announcing, to speed and organization, were top rate. Sunday night was, by far, my favorite dance night of the entire congress, and had some absolutely hysterical things happen…The music this night, both DJ and band, was absolutely exceptional…Tons of dance partners, and lots of fun dancing, pretty much everywhere you looked. More or less even, between men and women,…There was also a really interesting and fun line dance thing that started at about midnight, and lasted about 20 minutes. Didn't really "get it", but it was interesting. Each night the salsa congress had something unique. Be it Brazzlian drumming, line dances, or unique performances during the social dancing. Definitely kept you guessing. [Read more...]

What an awesome congress! I would say that the Sydney Salsa Congress is one of the top three congresses in the world."  (2007 Sydney Salsa Congress)

"Virtually every woman I danced with followed me flawlessly.  They were light, fast, and easy to lead as well.“ (2005 Sydney Salsa Congress)
Al "Liquid Silver" Espinoza,

“The difference between the Australian Congresses and others from around the world is that everyone, and I mean everyone, is so friendly and pay attention to you. From the Security guy to the Organisers. You don’t really get that in London.”
Super Mario, (London)

“We learned so many things here in Australia and we are having so much fun, and I hope you people never change.  The Australian people are so warm…. and even the Non Salsa people for example, in the Hotel, always so helpful and nice to talk to.” Ryoko (from “Wasabe” Japan)

"The Congress here is very well organized, the workshops, shows and parties. What’s impressed me the most is the standard of salsa dancing in Australia.  You’ve got some of the best dancers in the world right now!"

If you’re out there and you’ve never been to the Sydney Salsa Congress you must come to this event if you’re involved in Salsa because this is the national exhibition where everybody comes together the one time in the year to learn from everybody else and to mix in with people from overseas."
Paul Young
