.jpg) The Sydney Salsa Congress is a tremendous opportunity for Latin Dance Schools to showcase the talent of both professionals and students. This is the Australian salsa industry's biggest event with over 2,000 spectactors every night.
The organisers of other international Salsa Congresses will also be scouting for teams to invite to perform at their congresses.
Imagine, you could be invited to perform overseas!
The number of performances are limited as the nightly shows are limited to 2.5 hours in length. Each year, we are innundated with applications to perform (to apply, simply contact Jaime Jesus, our artistic director on jaime.jesus@latindance.com.au)
Selection Criteria 1. The entire length of the nightly Shows cannot be longer than 2.5 hours, therefore performance spots are STRICTLY LIMITED
2. There are 40 spots for national teams (Thursday - Sunday night)
3. We want to give as many people as possible the opportunity to perform, therefore:
a) Preference will be given to teams over couples, and
b) One person can only perform in a maximum of 2 performances. 4. Each school is allowed a maximum of 1 student team, and 1 professional team. Where the school presents a different style of dance, it will be up to th discretion of the Sydney Salsa Congress directors as to whether additional teams from the same school may perform.
Definition of a school: Any dance company that runs dance classes on a permanent basis
5. All performers must purchase a full pass which will give access to all 4 nights and 3 days of workshops. Performers receive an $100 discount on the full pass (special price $220 if purchased before 21st Oct 2009). All perfomers will also receive a copy of the 2009 Performance DVD valued at $55.
